Dr. Poonam Chauhan

“Creating Stories Through Texture and Color”

Dr. Poonam Chauhan, a professional artist from India, holds a Ph.D. in Drawing and Painting. She began her career as a Fine Arts lecturer at Doctor Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Later, she collaborated with Kokuyo Camlin and conducted special art classes across northern India. She has received numerous honors for her work, including the Sanskar Bharti Awards and multiple accolades from Wakankar Kala Kendra.

Known for her distinctive knife painting technique, Dr. Poonam works with watercolor, acrylic, and oil on silk and canvas. Her artistic focus includes abstracts, landscapes, portraits, and traditional Indian folk art like Tanjore and Kerala murals. Her recent exhibitions include “Battle of Brushes” at Paperworld Exhibition 2024. She has also showcased her work in “UAE Land of Dreams,” “Cherish – Time of Giving,” “AYAH,” and “Retro Revival.” She has also participated in World Art Dubai in 2023 and 2024, where her abstract works received high praise.

Beyond her exhibitions, Dr. Poonam is a dedicated volunteer. She actively engages in live art sessions with students of determination at SNF Development Centre and other special needs institutions. She also supports cancer awareness through art. Her work has been published in World Art: Encyclopedia of International Contemporary Artists and International Contemporary Art: Hundred Best Artists.
