Stefania Pomillo is an Italian artist based in Dubai. Her journey into the world of art began at an early age. She is a surveyor by profession. Nonetheless, her passion for creativity was nurtured during childhood. She first started painting alongside her mother at that time. By the age of fifteen, Stefania expressed her artistic voice through humorous cartoon drawings. She showcased her natural storytelling and illustration skills.
In 2012, Stefania expanded her creative pursuits into writing and illustrating children’s fairy tales. Her dedication to this craft led to the publication of her first book in 2018. She has since collaborated with other authors as an illustrator. Alongside her literary work, she continued to refine her artistic practice by attending painting courses and participating in various exhibitions.
In 2019, Stefania moved to Dubai, where she made the decision to dedicate herself fully to the arts. Today, she focuses on painting, writing, and illustration, continuously exploring new creative possibilities.
Her paintings are primarily created in oil. They are often enriched with textured material details. Her drawings are produced using charcoal or pastel. Stefania’s artistic themes are diverse and evolve with her inspiration, ranging from landscapes and portraits to abstract compositions. She enjoys experimenting with different techniques, allowing each piece to show a unique moment of creativity and emotion.
Stefania has actively contributed to the art community through several notable engagements. She participated as a Mentor at the Student Art Show in 2023. She also participated as a Mentor at the Student Art Show in 2024. Additionally, she was a Signature Canvas Artist at Paperworld Middle East 2023. She took part in a live mural painting during the annual marathon event. This event was in collaboration with Dubai Municipality and the UAE Food Bank.
Her artistic achievements have been widely recognized. The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Culture & Youth recognized Stefania. This was in support of the Golden Visa for Artists. She has received certificates of distinction from the International Board of The International Visual Artist (Egypt). She was also honored by Oscar Magazine Egypt for her artistic participation.
Additionally, Stefania serves as the Art Director of the Italy Department at UNESCO Inter Action Art. This further reflects her commitment to fostering international artistic collaboration. It also highlights her dedication to cultural exchange.
Through her work, Stefania Pomillo continues to celebrate creativity. She embraces storytelling and artistic exploration. Her contributions are meaningful to the vibrant art community in the UAE and beyond.
